Baby  Mary Jane Shoes

I just came up with a pattern for some 0-3 month baby mary jane shoes. I had scoured online for a  free pattern that I liked but, could not find what what I was looking for. I had so much fun making these and, they turned out just the way I wanted them to. I am currently testing out my pattern and will be posting the pattern once I am sure the pattern is correct. Look back soon for the pattern!

Crochet Sushi

I thought long and hard about what to make for my Secret Santa gift exchange at work. I wanted to give something thoughtful and creative. I decided for one of the days of giving to make a gift for my Secret Santa at work who is a huge sushi fan. I thought to crochet some sushi, but went a step further and made them into Christmas ornaments. I made 4 types of sushi ornaments (regular sushi roll, egg sushi, salmon sushi, and shrimp sushi) along with a fortune cookie ornament to top it off. The fortune cookie has a piece of paper folded up and tucked inside with a quote from the recipients favorite author. Since my daughter is in her 2nd  year of mandarin Chinese, she wrote everything out in Chinese for me to make it extra fun. I placed all of the ornaments into a Chinese take out box that was Christmas themed. I also made up a receipt to look like a Chinese take out receipt with a listing of each type of sushi (in English and Chinese also) so the recipient would know each type, along with a pair of chopsticks. I cant wait to give it to her tomorrow!

DIY Bronco Jersey Purse
I was so excited to post this purse I made. I made this from my daughters old Bronco jersey. The next time that I make one of these I will do a step by step tutorial so everyone can learn how.

Slipper Boots Pattern

This is an amateur create as I go pattern. So please, don't be too harsh on the criticism. :)

I am attempting to crochet a pair of slipper boots in the style of UGG Boots. I scoured the internet looking for a site that has a pattern free of charge. I had no luck, so I am attempting to create them on my own, making up my pattern as I go. I am breaking the pattern and instructions down by each part of the slipper as I create them. Here is my plan:

  1. Sole of slipper
  2. front toe to ankle
  3. outside of slipper
  4. inside of slipper
  5. outside calf portion
  6. inside calf portion
  7. fuzzy trim
  8. any additional decorations
Like I said, who knows if this will work because this is my first attempt at creating a pattern to share with other people. Hopefully it will work and I can share it for free so others can have a free pattern.

Slipper Boots Pattern

Sole of Slipper
Crochet Hook size -  6.00 mm/Size J
Yarn used – I Love this Yarn Brand – Med. Weight – Burnt Pumpkin Orange

Abbreviations:
SC - single chain
SS - single stitch
DS - double stitch
If you don't know how to do these stitches, you can find some really great tutorials on YouTube. That is how I taught myself how to crochet a couple of years ago! There may be some more complicated stitches as I go through this but, probably not.

Begin-
Sc 17
Turn, SS 16, in same  stitch as previous SS-DS 1
Turn, DS 1, sc 16, in same stitch as previous SS-DS 1
Turn, DS 1, sc 16, in same stitch as previous SS-DS 1

As you go around, DS 3, DS 2, SS 16, in same stitch as previous SS-DS 2, DS 2
As you go around, DS 2, DS 2,DS 2, SS 16, in same stitch as previous SS-DS 2, DS 2
As you go around, DS 2, DS 2,DS 2, SS 18, DS 2, DS 2
AS you go around, DS 2, DS 3, DS 1, DS 1, SS 17, DS 2 (next 7), DS 3
SS 19, DS 1, DS 2 (next 5), DS 3, SS 21, DS 2 (next 5), DS 1 (next 11) you should be around to the other side
SS 24, DS 1 (next 9), DS 2 (next 2), SS 80 (you should be all the way back around to the other side)
SS 80 – you should be all the way back around to where you started at this point. I tied my row off here because it was the right size for the sole of my slipper. Remember you will need to make 2 of these for your pair of boots. When you finish the 2nd sole, flip it upside down so it will work for the opposite foot. Good luck! Let me know how adventure with this goes...I would love to hear from you!
